It represents unconditional love and the ability to support, nurture, and heal. It is a powerful force of compassion and empathy and its warm light is a beacon of hope. We are also in a space of spirit, because the element of the Tarantula is fire, which is the potent elixir of self that is neither self, mind, or heart. So, there is a combination here of combining the heart and the spirit into a space of service, alignment, and purpose.
Claiming Our Life's Purpose with the Tarantula
Arachnophobia is absolutely a thing, but I have to say, I love these creatures so much. I find them to be incredible. Their ancient symbolism has, for better or worse, permeated into the collective unconscious. Unlike the spider, they do weave the geometric webs, but weave webs for protection and ambush hunting.
They have been around for around 120 million years, and their presence helps the ecosystems around them. If you have a fear of spiders, I still encourage you to take the invitations we will discuss here. Their metaphorical energies, as well as physical, have many gifts for us to take and use.
Coming after the Panther, the Tarantula says that our way is clear, but now we must make a choice. The Panther cleared the path, but we still must choose the path forward. This different path, the one that is full of unknowns and potentials, percolates in our spirit. Like the cosmic Void, this step towards a higher space requires us to fully relinquish the previous path, the one that was known and easily understood. The tarantula says that now is the time to step forward and embrace this beautiful, spiritual, wild existence. We are strong enough, but we must choose it. There is a crossroads in front of us, and the mist and shadow conceal what our brain desires to be known. Take heart, though, dear reader; your spirit is ready to step across the threshold and into a brave and purposeful path.
The Tarantula symbolizes this moment at the threshold when we must prioritize purpose over ease, and responsibility over comfort. Like the Tarantula, who patiently sits and watches from our deepest inner depths, our soul longs for our ascension into all that we have dreamed of. When this card comes forward, we must turn inward and listen to the deepest voice within. The voice of intuition is the voice of our soul, and it is telling us to turn towards divinity. This is the time to merge yourself into your dreams and the bigger picture. Your inner soul is ready to step across the threshold and into something bigger.

Our soul is patiently waiting, like a tarantula in its nest, for us to come home to the most pure part of ourselves. In this sacred space of spirit, we know and trust that we will choose the path that we are meant to walk.

It involves prioritizing your life’s deeper purpose, or dharma.” This ancient religious concept stems from both Hinduism and Buddhism. One website defines dharma as, ” Overall, dharma is seen as both an individual and universal principle that influences ethical behavior and contributes to the well-being of society, fostering a sense of duty and virtue across diverse cultural contexts.”
This concept can be broken down as the fact that we all have a soul contract that speaks to the responsibility of living well and in alignment, so that we may contribute in our own unique ways to a more beautiful world. This is exactly what the Tarantula speaks on. When we claim our life’s purpose, we foster that sense of well-being for society, because we have chosen it within our spirits. Our souls are ready to rise, yet there may be something that is keeping the same song playing. We need to flip the script, pull from our deepest well, and choose the path forward that is calling us towards our higher selves.
