Making our way through the animals within the fire element of the Wild Unknown Animal Spirit deck, we have come to our seventh animal, the Camel. The camel comes after the tarantula, a card that speaks to claiming your life’s purpose and following your intuition.
Now, the camel says that we take that decision and move with purpose. We understand the path because we understand ourselves. We are ready to move through anything because we have claimed our life’s purpose with the tarantula.
Now, we are ready to travel to new heights, new situations, and new chapters because we have developed an unshakeable trust in ourselves. With the numerology of seven, we approach themes of wisdom, understanding, and seeking truth in all areas.
From worldnumerology.com, it says, “The meaning of the number 7 represents the seeker, the thinker, the analyst, and the eternal searcher of truth. In numerology, the number 7 is universally associated with wisdom, introspection, spiritual awareness, and the desire to understand life’s deepest mysteries.
The 7 does not take anything at face value and is never satisfied with surface explanations. Instead, it continuously seeks the hidden truth behind appearances, knowing instinctively that reality is often veiled by illusion. The meaning of the number 7 revolves around questioning, investigating, and uncovering what lies beneath the obvious.”
Again, these are all themes we will see with the Camel.
Knowing Ourselves More Deeply with the Camel
Camels are some of the most incredible animals that exist. The number of biological adaptations and evolutionary changes their ancient ancestors went through so that camels today can survive in some of the harshest conditions is incredible.
They can go a week without water, have three sets of eyelids, and have a network of blood vessels within the skull to keep their brain cool. Within the element of fire, and as we have discussed since the beginning of this element with the Fire Ant, the animals in this suit speak to transformation and change. The animals in this element are here to help the transformation within the spirit lead us through obstacles and hardships, so we may find alchemy within the self.
The Camel speaks to being independent, resourceful, and self-reliant. The energy of the Camel is to not fear the change, the obstacle, the hurdle in life, but to embrace it and move through it with ease, trust, and conviction. The Camel speaks to recalibrating your energy and your spirit (we are in the element of fire, after all) so that you find a soothing calm that will help you embrace the situation and move through it with grace, compassion, and fortitude.
With the Camel card, we are asked and invited to move with a sense of understanding within the self of our actions, emotions, and spirit, and how those play into the situations that we are moving through. How can we better nourish ourselves internally so that we may meet the externals in life from a place of support?
The Camel is, as mentioned, within the element of fire, but Kim Krans has put a huge blue crescent moon in the image, highlighting that the transformative qualities between fire and water are manifested in the external world when we first combine them internally, allowing our spirits and hearts to move together. This allows the passion and drive of our spirit to move us forward and to embrace those changes and hardships, while letting our emotions and intuition be a guide, and a balm when things get hard.

The Camel speaks to knowing yourself, so if you feel like you are struggling to find your answers, then sit in a space of self-discovery. Journal, read, meditate, be in nature, or book a reading with yours truly! It is within your own power to move through life in a way where you are transformed for the better. It is your responsibility in how you bring your energy to the situations in front of you. The Camel reminds you that you have immense power and ways to nourish yourself.
Let yourself take up space. Let yourself move through your days in ways that work for you. Bring new things into your life. A pilgrimage doesn’t have to be some journey to a far-off place where you eat, pray, and love. It can be as simple as bringing new things into your world. It could be learning something new, taking up a hobby, challenging yourself in some way, meeting new people, and more. When stripping away the need for a new or holy location, the pilgrimage is a metaphor for moving through your life in a way that has new, deeper meaning to you. It is a transformation at the core of your wild soul.
